The Preston branch of the Lakeside Railway Society is one of two local groups that meet regularly during the winter months to provide a social focus. The LRS has its roots in Lancashire in the 1960s. A core of active members still lives in the area around Preston, Blackburn and Chorley. This branch is for them, but all the events are open to all, including non-members.
The talks are held at the Bitter Suite pub on Fylde Road, Preston. All meetings start at 8pm. The Bitter Suite has excellent real ales, and is near the University of Central Lancashire buildings.
Tuesday 12th October 2010
Howard Quayle gives a slide presentation. Howard was a leading member of the Lakeside Railway Society back in the 1970s and is now a major player in the Cumbrian Railways Association. Howard has a great selection slides and is a great talker! See you there!
Do please come along and support the branch meetings - you'll be treated to a fascinating presentation, and have the chance to meet LRS members and others: a warm welcome is guaranteed.
